Several members of the Roseville Police force are wrapping their heads around a big problem--childhood cancer. At 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, fourteen department members will have their heads shaved at Westfield Galleria's annual St. Baldrick's event to raise money for children's cancer research.
This year, ten sworn officers, a police cadet and three Roseville Police volunteers are having their heads shaved. They are especially inspired this year by the memory of P.J. Virador, a 6-year-old Roseville boy who lost his seven-month battle with brain cancer on Valentine's Day.
The Roseville Police Department has been a longtime supporter of St. Baldrick's and our local Roseville children's cancer foundation, the Keaton Raphael Memorial Fund. So far this year, the team has raised more than $6,600 toward the cause. If you'd like to support the team and more importantly, contribute toward children's cancer research, click here or visit St. Baldrick's website at www.stbaldricks.org .
