|At 5:03 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, Roseville Police and Roseville Fire personnel responded to a report of a motorcycle down on Industrial Avenue near Galilee Road. The motorcyclist, Richard Alton Geitz, 60, of Lincoln, was taken by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he died a short time later. His passenger, a 48-year-old woman from Lincoln, was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.|
Officers determined that Mr. Geitz was riding his 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Industrial Boulevard when he lost control of the bike for unknown reasons and went down. Both Mr. Geitz and his passenger were wearing helmets, and there were no signs that alcohol was a factor in the collision. Roseville's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
