Roseville Fire Department responds to three separate grass fires
Contact :Jeff Carman, Assistant Fire Chief    (916) 764-1673
The Roseville Fire Department responded to three separate grass fires this afternoon, the first two of which started within 10 minutes of each other. No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged in any of the fires. Crews from Roseville Fire and neighboring fire departments contained all three fires within half an hour.

The first grass fire began at approximately 2 p.m. by Linda Creek near the intersection of Cirby Way and Rocky Ridge Drive. Due to its rapid rate of speed, 7 fire engines, 28 fire personnel and a helicopter from Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the 3-acre fire.

The second vegetation fire began at approximately 2:10 p.m. near Sculpture Park located near the intersection Eureka Road and N. Sunrise Ave. and was contained to one-half acre.

Both of these fires were contained by 2:40 p.m

The third fire began at approximately 3:30 p.m. in undeveloped land near Fiddyment Road and Westhills Drive and burned 2 acres. Three engines and 10 fire personnel responded, containing the fire by 4 p.m.

All three fires are considered suspicious and are under investigation. Several neighboring fire agencies assisted in the fire fighting and fire response coverage in Roseville, including CalFire, Rocklin Fire, Sacramento Metro Fire and South Placer Fire.
