Learn how to start a Neighborhood Watch group!

Updated June 26, 2017

Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime and help revitalize neighborhoods. Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce crime in their communities.

If you're interested in organizing a neighborhood watch group, please email us and make an appointment for an individualized training session. You are able to learn all that you need to start a group and we can answer questions you may have during the meeting.

You'll learn things such as:
Why you should start a neighborhood watch group
The benefits of neighborhood watch
The responsibilities of a neighborhood watch block captain
The role of neighborhood watch members
The most common crimes in Roseville, and how an active neighborhood watch group can help prevent them

We'll also give you printed materials to help start your group.

Neighborhood Watch helps neighbors get to know each other and learn how to work together. At Neighborhood Watch meetings, residents are taught how to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. The extra "eyes and ears" of aware neighbors help the police catch criminals. Neighborhood Watch can reduce crime and make neighborhoods safer places to live.

Neighborhood Watch is not necessarily a huge time commitment. You can organize and launch a group in just one meeting.
