Downtown Specific Plan - The Downtown Specific Plan is a 20 year plan that will provide for the ability to add 950,000 square feet of new ground-floor commercial retail space and 1,020 residential units to the project area. One of the major goals associated with the Downtown Specific Plan is to encourage new development within the downtown; as such the Specific Plan creates a number of various incentives and approaches to streamlining development. It is intended that these regulatory and process incentives are utilized to encourage retail, restaurants, residential and additional office developments to the downtown. (Planning & Redevelopment)
Merchants Associations – redevelopment staff participates with the downtown and old town merchants groups to address issues related to businesses such as parking, wayfinding signage, educational speakers, and events.
Downtown Events – the city supports and often so-sponsors events in the downtown and old town that bring visitors to the area benefiting the businesses. (Redevelopment Agency)
Redevelopment Area Marketing and Advertising – the agency co-ops ads for the downtown businesses, puts business info in our monthly newsletter, and makes posters promoting businesses and places them in the parking garage. (Redevelopment Agency)
Bar Owners Group – specially formed coalition of bar owners in the Historic Old Town area, Police and redevelopment staff to proactively address issues related to the increase bar patronage in the area.
Partnerships – Economic Development staff partner with Placer County, Lincoln and Rocklin offices of Economic Development, Roseville Chamber of Commerce, SACTO, SARTA, Green Capital Alliance. Redevelopment Agency partners with the Chamber, Roseville Arts, Roseville Historical Society, Magic Circle Theater, merchants associations, and Placer Valley to address issues facing downtown businesses and to promote all things downtown.
