Energy Savings Solutions For Your Home
Energy Savings are just a click away. As your community owned electric utility, we can provide you with the information and rebates you need to start saving energy and money. This tool provides you with information on the most common home energy upgrades.
LED (Light Emitting Diode) light bulbs
LED light bulbs are clearly the superior alternative to incandescent lighting. In addition to being more energy efficient, longer lasting, and safer for you and the environment, they are now more affordable for Roseville Residents. Choose between ENERGY STAR rated standard and flood style lamps pre-rebated at local retailers.

CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light) bulbs
CFLs are a low cost alternative to incandescent lighting. CFLs last longer than incandescent bulbs and use less energy. Note: these bulbs require proper hazardous waste disposal. More details on CFL lighting.
Outdoor fixtures that are on for many hours each night can consume a great deal of electricity. ENERGY STAR qualified outdoor fixtures provide exterior illumination efficiently, some with controls that turn the light off when the sun is out.
HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Condition) / Heat Pump
Heating and Cooling your home can be your largest source of energy use. Replacing your old inefficient HVAC is an investment that will allow you to start saving money and energy.
Rebates for varying levels of efficiency above standard, the higher level you choose the lower your operating cost for the life of the system and higher the rebate you will be eligible for. More information on our available rebates
Whole House Fan
Comfort - Open the windows in the cool evening and switch on your system for a breeze that can feel like a 10 degree reduction in your home while it simultaneously rids your attic of the "heat blanket" effect
Energy Savings the next day - By allowing the fan to operate all night and "pre-cool" your house you can keep that expensive air conditioner from turning on until later in the day
Room Air Conditioner
Earning the ENERGY STAR means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. By choosing ENERGY STAR qualified heating and cooling equipment and taking steps to optimize its performance, you can enhance the comfort of your home while saving energy.
Ductless Mini Split
ENERGY STAR certified ductless heating and cooling systems are highly efficient products that deliver warm or cool air directly into different zones in your home, instead of routing it through ducts first. They are an increasingly popular, cost-effective solution to replace inefficient baseboard electric heating and window air conditioners in older homes.
Do You Have Enough? No matter what kind of insulation you currently have in your attic, one quick way to determine if you need more is to look across the span of your attic. If your insulation is just level with or below your floor joists (i.e., you can easily see your joists), you should add more. Recommended levels of insulation
Basement & Crawlspace Insulation
Sealing air leaks and adding insulation in the basement are generally considered moderate to difficult do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, but the benefits can be substantial.
Windows, Doors and Skylights
Installing ENERGY STAR certified windows, doors, and skylights lowers energy bills and saves you money. With more efficient windows, you also use less energy, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.
In houses with forced-air heating and cooling systems, ducts are used to distribute conditioned air throughout the house. In a typical house, however, about 20 to 30 percent of the air that moves through the duct system is lost due to leaks, holes, and poorly connected ducts.
Duct Replacement / Insulation
Properly insulated duct work helps maintain air temperature as it is delivered throughout your home which will increase the efficiency of your HVAC system
Air that leaks through your home's envelope − the outer walls, windows, doors, and other openings − wastes a lot of energy and increases your utility costs. A well-sealed envelope, coupled with the right amount of insulation, can make a real difference on your utility bills.
Replacing your single speed pool pump with a variable speed version can create noticeable energy cost savings, leaving your pool just as clean and sparkling as ever.
