Our annual Celebrate the Earth Festival features a local green vendors, live music, face painting and other free family entertainment. Take the self-guided Greener Gardens Tour in May, featuring local homes that showcase water-efficient gardens, then visit the free Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Expo featuring gardening professionals and industry experts.

These are just two examples of the great activities happening at the Center all year long. From e-waste recycling drop-offs to Roseville Electric Utilities' popular LED Holiday Light Exchange, events at the Utility Exploration Center build on the investment of Roseville’s Utilities in the community. Drive Up and Let Us Do the Rest! Bring your e-waste to us and we will recycle it for free. E-waste is recycled by SIMS Recycling Solutions, an international recycling company with a sorting and shredding facility in Roseville. Bring your secure documents and have up to three file boxes shredded for free (additional boxes of documents may be shredded for $6 per box). Make sure your bank statements, tax documents and other important information doesn’t fall into the hands of identity thieves. Secure shredding provided by Shred-it.

LED Holiday Light Exchange Begins — Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Roseville Electric Utility is providing free strands of LED holiday lights to its customers during our Holiday Light Exchange Program. Beginning November 4, Roseville Electric Utility customers can bring their old incandescent light strings and their latest utility bill to the Utility Exploration Center during normal hours (Tue. - Sat., 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and exchange up to three for free strands of energy efficient LEDs. Light emitting diodes (LED) use 90% less energy than older holiday lights and burn much cooler, significantly reducing the risk of fire, and are built of tough plastic, making them almost indestructible. Offer available while supplies last.

Join us one Thursday night a week for 10 weeks to gain a wealth of information through presentations by Master Gardeners, landscape professionals and other experts who can help you learn to save money, be water efficient and sustain a healthy landscape.

Integrating water conservation into your home does not have to impact style, beauty, comfort or lifestyle! Visit up to ten Roseville gardens reflecting some of the the best examples of sustainable living in the region. Gardens are selected for their efficient use of water and participation in Roseville’s Cash for Grass Rebate Program.

The free Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Expo features River-Friendly Landscaping Green Gardener professionals, University of California Master Gardeners and other industry experts. Displays include UC Davis Arboretum All-Star plants, the Green Gardens Photo Gallery and exhibitors featuring water-wise products.
