About Station 1
Fire Station 1 is our department's headquarters where fire administration and the fire prevention bureau are located. It is also the home of "Task-Force 1", the department's hazardous materials response team.
Truck-1 is a 100' tractor-drawn tillered ladder truck built by American LaFrance and LTI. This truck company is staffed with 4 firefighters who are cross trained as paramedics and hazmat specialists.
Engine 1 is a Hi-Tech 1500 GPM pumper. It is staffed with 3 firefighters who are cross trained as paramedics and hazmat specialists.
Hazmat 1 is a state-of-the-art hazardous materials response truck. It is staffed with personnel from Truck 1 and Engine 1 when needed. The truck carries highly specialized chemical response equipment capable of handling most chemical emergencies including those involving weapons of mass destruction.
Battalion 1 is a Chevrolet Suburban that has been retro-fitted with specialized equipment that enables our battalion chiefs to command major emergencies in the field. It has a multitude of radios, computers, fax machines, TV's, and other equipment that makes this complex job as easy as possible.
