 | Fire Chief, Marcus Reed Fire Chief Marcus Reed comes to Roseville Fire Department from the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue District in Oregon, where he served as Division Chief for the past 11 years. Chief Reed has 29 years of experience in the fire service. He was elected Fire Commissioner at Clark County Fire District #6 in 1991, and was active in the IAFF at both the local and state levels. He has served on the State of Oregon Building Codes Division Advisory Committee for solar energy responsible for developing and implementing Oregon’s first state wide Solar Energy Building Code. Marc Lives in Granite Bay, with his wife, Sara and their three children James, Kennedy and Fiona. | | | | | | | Assistant Chief of Operations, Jeff Carman Assistant Chief of Operations Jeff Carman began his fire service career with the City of Roseville Fire Department in September 1984. In 1987 he promoted to Engineer, followed by Fire Captain in 1989, and BC in 1993. In 2010 he was promoted to Assistant Chief where he oversees the Operations Division of the Roseville Fire Department where he is responsible for all aspects of emergency service delivery. Chief Carman is a graduate of CSU Long Beach, where he completed his BA in Public Administration. He also holds a AA in Liberal Arts and an AS in Fire Technology form Sierra College. In addition he has overseen the Hazmat Program and Special Operations programs. In 2005 he did a 2 year assignment at Sacramento Terrorism Task Force as the Terrorism Coordinator for the regional fire departments. Chief Carman resides in Lincoln with his wife, Sue and his daughter. His son is a firefighter at Wheatland Fire Authority. He enjoys the outdoors and spends much of his free time at his cabin in the Trinity Wilderness hunting, fishing and enjoying nature. | | | | | | | | Division Chief Training Officer, Jim Bryla Training Chief Jim Bryla started his fire service career in 1980 and served with the Los Angeles City Fire Department and Truckee Fire Protection District before coming to the Roseville Fire Department in 1992. Division Chief Bryla is a State Certified Fire Instructor and State Certified Chief Officer. In addition to his fire department duties Chief Bryla teaches fire science and fire academy classes at several local community colleges. | | | | | | | Division Chief Fire Marshal, Jason Rizzi Jason Rizzi began his fire service career with the County of Sonoma in 1999. Serving as a Fire and Hazardous Materials Inspector, he performed both Fire Code and CUPA inspections, and was a member of the County’s Hazardous Materials Response Team. Prior to joining Sonoma County Fire he served on active duty with the United States Coast Guard beginning in 1991. Chief Rizzi left active duty in 1999 to begin his fire service career, but remains in the Coast Guard Reserve serving with the Pacific Strike Team in Novato, CA. In 2002 he joined the West Sacramento Fire Department serving as a Fire Inspector. Over his tenure with West Sacramento Fire he was promoted to Senior Fire Inspector, Hazardous Materials Program Manager, and Fire Marshal where he oversaw the Division of Fire Prevention and the Fire Investigation Unit. In August of 2011 Chief Rizzi joined the Roseville Fire Department serving as the Fire Marshal and Division Chief of Fire Prevention. He is a graduate of Cogswell Polytechnical College, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science and serves as the co-chair of the California Fire Prevention Officers committee on Hazardous Materials. | | | |
