The City of Roseville was born a "railroad town" in the late 1800's and grew to be one of the largest railroad switching yards in the United States. Roseville was incorporated on April 10, 1909 and at the time, the population was approximately 2,500 residents. The Roseville Fire Department was organized in 1907 and had 16 volunteer members which operated out of two fire stations. The city grew at a fairly slow rate until the early 1980's.
Today, Roseville is home to over 118,000 residents and has been one of the fastest growing cities in California. The Roseville Fire Department has kept pace with this growth and currently has eight fire stations. Additionally, the Roseville Fire Department is home to a 3 acre training facitlity which includes a six-story training tower. The men and women of the Roseville Fire Department are committed to protect and enhance the safety and well being of residents, businesses, customers and partners.
