Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan
Citizens of Roseville are invited to review and provide comment on the 2016 City of Roseville Multi-Hazard mitigation plan. Upon its approval by FEMA, the plan will serve as a coordinating document for the risk reduction efforts for the City acting as a keyway to Federal funding for the next five years. The plan includes an assessment of the city’s risks, all hazards and includes a list of proposed initiatives designed to minimize future hazard-related damage.
The Public comment period ran from July 27, 2016 to August 19, 2016. The public was able to provide input in the following ways._____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Hard copies of the draft plan were available for public review at the City of Roseville Permit Center, 311 Vernon Street, as well as each of the City’s Public Library branches.
• The public was invited to provide comment at the August 2, 2016 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Steering Committee Meeting. The meeting was held at the City of Roseville Civic Center, 311 Vernon Street, Meeting Rooms 1&2, at 5:30 p.m.
The City of Roseville, local leaders and the community are working together to identify risks and develop a plan to reduce vulnerability to potential hazards. This steering committee is meeting monthly to update the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City of Roseville. This plan details the risks of both natural and manmade hazards in Roseville and includes programs and projects to help reduce the exposure of city residents and businesses should an event occur. By having a plan in place, Roseville is eligible for federal pre-disaster and post-disaster assistance. It is also a requirement of the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. Roseville's original plan was adopted by the City Council in July 2005. The city has been very successful to date in securing funds for projects in Roseville to reduce hazard risks.
