Volunteer Appreciation Event

The City of Roseville utilizes volunteers in a variety of capacities including Electric, Parks & Recreation and Libraries, and Police who regularly rely on the volunteer community to assist staff in their day-to-day operations. These departments, along with the City Manager and council members, recognized the City of Roseville volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation Event held April 4 at Maidu Community Center. Guests were treated to a delicious meal while Department Heads and their staff expressed their appreciation of their volunteers. We believe that this annual event reinforces the City’s commitment to volunteerism and serves as a small way to thank those volunteers for contributing to their community.

Volunteers do make a difference in our community. During fiscal year 2011-12, the Volunteer Center tallied over 29,000 volunteer hours within City departments. This equates to $719,476* in cost savings and supported many of the wonderful programs that the City of Roseville has to offer its residents.

*According to the Independent Sector one volunteer hour in California was calculated to be worth $24.67 in 2011.

We are truly fortunate to have a community that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for its residents.
