Recreation Facility Manager (Sports Center)
$11.42 to $13.88 per hour

The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the temporary and part time position of Recreation Facilities Manager to work at the Roseville Sports Center.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Under direction of Senior Recreation Supervisor, performs all duties pertaining to the supervision, safety and operation of an assigned facility and program; supervises events being held at the facility relative to policies and procedures, maintains proper safety practices, maintains cleanliness of restrooms and public areas; maintains good public relations; completes facility reports as required; responsible for the control of all activity at the facility and keeping the Senior Recreation Supervisor informed of the status of the facility and maintenance conditions affecting facility operation. Independently deals with disruptive patrons; exercises crowd control; prevents theft and damage of facility, materials and equipment; enforces facility policies, rules, and safety regulations; shows sensitivity to the special needs or problems of the community; assists in emergency situations; discourages loitering and maintains order; gives directions; patrols inside and outside the building during open hours; checks restrooms and areas not open to the public; prevents unauthorized access to restricted areas; assists at closing time to assure that all users leave the premises, alarms are activated and all doors are secure and locked; escorts staff to cars; surveys facilities for problems of security (including non-functioning light bulbs and vandalism) and hazardous conditions; enforces correction of infractions through verbal warning; expels unruly persons and detains more serious offenders for proper authorities and notifies supervisors of possible emergency conditions; and performs related work as required.
Completion of at least one (1) year of college.
One (1) year of experience in facility or event management or a related field.
Personnel supervision and training techniques; aquatic program planning and administration; public relations and customer service techniques; instructional procedures; water safety; first aid; and swimming pool maintenance and operation.
Prepare reports; plan, direct and supervise the work of others; work with the public; follow oral and written instructions; work cooperatively with others; and interpreting policies and procedures.
On a Continuous Basis:
Know and understand all aspects of the job and department operations; analyze program budget and staff reports; know, understand, and interpret department policies, procedures, rules, codes and regulations; observe and evaluate staff performance; analyze and solve department and/or program problems and issues, taking appropriate corrective action; remember various personnel rules; develop and explain department and program policies and procedures to staff and the public; sit at desk and in meetings for extended periods of time.
During special events may set up booths, hang banners, move tables, carry supplies, etc., with little or no notice depending on the event; twist to reach equipment surrounding desk; stand, walk, see and hear with sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job; perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; lift light weight (up to five pounds); occasionally lift equipment/materials/furniture weighing forty-five (45) pounds; use telephone and write or use keyboard to communicate through written means.
On a continuous basis, work indoors in an office environment; intermittently travel to various City facilities and park sites in vehicle; intermittently, may be exposed to dust, noise, moving objects and other vehicles, wet and slippery surfaces, and may be exposed to varying climates and temperature conditions while performing field work.
License or Certificate:
Valid first aid certificate and CPR required.

Qualifying applicants may be invited to staff assessment and/or oral interview. Appointment is contingent upon passing a City-paid pre-employment physical, a drug and alcohol screening test and a fingerprint check.
