Library Cards


Anyone can apply for a free Roseville Public Library card (see our Library Card & Borrowing Policy for more details on requirements). Visit a Roseville Library location in person to fill out the form to get your card, or print a copy of the application and bring it to a library location. The library card application is also available in Spanish.


Adults, ages 18 and over
  • A library card is issued free of charge.
  • A valid photo identification is required along with a library card application.  
  • The signed library card affirms that the customer will be responsible for materials checked out and charges incurred.
  • The customer is responsible for notifying the library immediately if their card is lost or stolen. 
  • The library card is considered in good standing if fines and fees are in accordance with set limits for all accounts sharing the same signing adult’s signature.
  
Youth, ages 0 - 17
  • The child’s library card must be signed by a parent /legal guardian/responsible adult. 
  • The signing adult must provide acceptable identification as noted above. 
  • The signing adult may elect to limit check out to only materials from the Children’s department and restrict Internet access.
  • The SIGNING ADULT will be held responsible for MATERIALS CHECKED OUT AND CHARGES INCURRED ON THIS CARD. 
  • The library card is considered in good standing if fines and fees are in accordance with set limits for all accounts sharing the same signing adult’s signature.
   
Student Cards  
  • Student cards will be issued to students under 18 years old with a valid school ID card. 
  • Student cards have a two-book borrowing limit and allow access to public PCs and other digital resources.   
  • Student cards may be upgraded to Youth cards by bringing parent/guardian/responsible adult to sign for the card.
  • Student card holders agree to be responsible for materials checked out and charges incurred on this card.

Online Services Cards

  • Online Services cards are available to anyone 18 or older with or without valid photo identification.
  • Online Services cards allow access to public PCs and other digital library resources.
  • No non-digital library materials may be checked out on an Online Services card.
  • Once issued, customers must bring the card, card number or valid photo ID with them to access PCs or digital resources.
