Mission, Vision & Values

Literacy skills open doors and allow people to have the opportunity to succeed in school, work and life. You can help by becoming a tutor!

Our tutors:
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Do not need to have previous tutoring or teaching experience
  • Have 2-3 hours a week to volunteer
  • Are able to volunteer during hours that the library is open
  • Are willing to be fingerprinted at city's expense
  • Are able to commit at least 6 months to the program
  • A college degree is preferable
We value both personal and professional diversity in our tutors because we believe that every individual contributes something unique to this program.
