The City’s government relations staff provided an update of the City's list of priority legislation to the Council’s Law & Regulation Committee at their September 21 meeting.
The updated list included 98 bills that meet the various criteria defined within the Council’s adopted 2015 Legislative and Regulatory Platform for State and Federal Advocacy.
The update also included a review of an assortment of advocacy positions the City has taken on specific legislation. Staff recommended bringing the revised priority list back to the Committee in October to provide a final review regarding actions taken by the Governor on the bills passed by the Legislature.
The final count of bills on the City's list of priority legislation that were forwarded to the Governor for his consideration was 53 bills. The government relations team, the City’s state lobbyist and coalition partners worked to advocate on an assortment of these bills until the final week of the legislative session. This is the final report on the list of priority legislation until a new list is established in February 2014.
