Roseville Electric has been named among one of the most reliable community-owned utilities in the nation - again!
The American Public Power Association, a national organization of publicly owned electric companies, rated Roseville Electric as a Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Platinum Award winner for the fourth time since its inception in 2005.
"Roseville Electric employees are committed to providing reliable energy and outstanding service – just as others did 100 years before us," said Electric Utility Director Michelle Bertolino. "One of the things I admire most about people at Roseville Electric is the pride they have in their work and their commitment to serve.
This award reflects their loyalty to our customers and community." Given every two years, the RP3 award requires utilities to demonstrate proficiency in four key areas: reliability, safety, employee development and system improvement.
Criteria in each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safety, and reliable delivery of electricity. On average, Roseville Electric customers experience an outage once every 8 years.
By comparison, electric customers living outside of Roseville experience an outage once every 10 months. Established in 1912, Roseville Electric not only provides highly reliable energy, but also has among the lowest rates in the region.
Collectively, customers have about $30 million more annually in discretionary spending because of their lower electric bills. That means there is more money available to spend at stores and on services in our community.
In addition, Roseville Electric rates help pay for streetlight and traffic signal operations and maintenance as well as police, fire, libraries and parks, ensuring Roseville continues to be a safe and dynamic community with a vibrant economy.
Roseville Electric prides itself in providing outstanding customer service. Our customer satisfaction rate among our residential and business customers is consistently above 90 percent.
Our energy experts helped 5,000 customers receive more than $2 million in rebate funds for their home or business energy efficiency makeover. Their efforts saved our customers 3.9 million kWh of electricity!
