8th Annual Heritage Trail Museums Tour

Last Updated: 7/25/2015

August 15 & 16, 10am-4pm. The Maidu Museum & Historic Site will be open extended hours this weekend and will offer free admission and free guided tours at 10am and 1pm. Bring the whole family and enjoy our contemporary art galleries and interactive exhibits inside the museum. Walk outside along the 5/8 mile trail through the ancient Nisenan Maidu site to see petroglyphs, bedrock mortar holes and native plants and animals. Children can pound acorns, make a beaded bracelet and try the scavenger hunt all for free.

We are one of 20 different Placer County museums from Roseville to Tahoe who are opening their doors free of charge. Join the museums tour and get a better understanding of Placer county's rich and colorful history. Go to four different museums during the event to be eligible to enter a prize drawing for one of three gift baskets. Download the 2015 Heritage Trail Guide here.

Shuttles will run about every 45 minutes until the 5:00pm final stop at the Maidu Museum.
