Get Energized! on May 13

Last Updated: 4/22/2017

Summer is here, time to Get Energized! Join us at the Roseville Utility Exploration Center, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., in Mahany Regional Park for free family fun with the sun Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pick up a solar race car kit for just $10 (or race one of our solar stock cars for free) and head to the tech lab where our pit crew will help you assemble your racer. Once you’ve got it tricked out and ready to race, head out to the courtyard and enter the Solar Speedway. Get racing and get your photo taken with our amazing trophy in the winner’s circle.

Head up to the front meeting rooms and take part in the Energy Olympics, where you can learn all about electricity and how we interact with it every day. Play Heat Wave, Run the Circuits, Static Gymnastics and other exciting games to win a medal for completing the Olympic circuit.

“Get Energized! is an energy fueled day of exploration for the whole family,” says Vonette McCauley, Public Relations Manager. “We have exciting games to introduce kids to electricity concepts as well as tips for parents on how to reduce energy use through our programs and energy efficiency rebates. There’s something for everyone.”

Roseville Electric Utility staff will be on hand to field questions from customers wanting to know more about solar power and energy efficiency rebates to help keep bills low this summer. Enter the energy efficiency scavenger hunt to find out more about what your family can do to keep cool in the hot summer sun, and how Roseville Electric Utility can save you money while doing it. Check out the pool in the courtyard to find out more about pool pumps and energy hogs. Come explore with us!
