Mark your calendars for the next medication take-back day

Lock it up. Clean it out. Drop it off.

Last Updated: 3/28/2017

Your next opportunity to clean out your medicine cabinets and safely dispose of expired and unneeded medications will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  There will be eleven drop-off locations in Placer County.  Locations in the Roseville area include  the Maidu Community Center, Granite Bay High School, Roseville High School and Sun City Roseville.

Safely disposing of unused and expired medications is a great way to keep our kids and our water drug-free, and is a good prevention habit for everyone.

The following items will be accepted for free, anonymous drop-off:
Prescription drugs
Non-prescription (over the counter) medications
Controlled substances (prescription narcotics and similar drugs)
Veterinary medications

We cannot accept the following items:
Sharps and lancets
Medical waste
Illegal drugs or marijuana products
Aerosols and hydrogen peroxide

Empty pills from bottles into plastic bags and seal.  Keep liquids in original bottles.

Medication take-back days are a collaborative effort of Auburn, Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville and Placer County law enforcement, water quality and public health entities as well as the local schools, the Coalition for Placer Youth, the Coalition for Auburn & Lincoln Youth, and Rx Drug Safe Placer Nevada.
