Curb ramp improvements in progress in the Sun City neighborhood

Updated December 02, 2020
The City of Roseville is upgrading residential curb ramps to meet current ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. These updates are required by law when streets are resurfaced.

In summer 2021, resurfacing is planned for the shaded area shown on the map below. The entire Sun City neighborhood will be resurfaced in phases from 2021 to 2024. Residents will receive details about the resurfacing several weeks before it's scheduled to begin.

Construction of this portion of curb ramp work is approximately $700,000 and is paid for by the Highway Users Tax and Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Fund.

Construction schedule

Work is anticipated to begin December 2020, with completion in June 2021. Working hours are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Periodic weekend work is possible.

Please note the schedule is subject to change due to equipment, materials, weather, and other unexpected conditions.

What to expect

Streets will be open to vehicle traffic, however, portions of sidewalks will be temporarily closed. You are encouraged to use caution when driving, walking, or biking near work zones.
During construction you will not be able to park vehicles near curb ramps.

Construction includes the removal of a portion of the sidewalk, curb, gutter, and a two foot wide strip of asphalt pavement adjacent to the ramp. The concrete ramp, curb, gutter, and sidewalk will be poured and set to cure. Once cured for several days, the removed roadway strip will be paved.

Notification
Twenty four hours before the start of construction, you’ll receive notification from the contractor.

Throughout the project, be sure to watch for signs. “No Parking” signs may be temporarily placed on your street while construction is in progress.

Emergency responders will continue to have access to your neighborhood. All residences, schools, churches, parks, and businesses will also remain accessible.
