Most Roseville City offices are closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. Refuse service follows its regular daily pick-up schedule. The City’s public safety, public works and utilities departments remain staffed to provide safety and emergency services, but administrative offices and public counters are closed. No Roseville Transit Commuter or Local service. Dial-A-Ride operates 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
On August 25, 2015, Acting Roseville City Manager Rob Jenson appointed Dominick Casey as Assistant City Manager on a permanent basis, transitioning from the "acting" capacity that he had been serving in for the past several weeks.
Casey, the City's Parks, Recreation & Libraries Director since 2011, will be an instrumental part of the search for a new Parks, Recreation & Libraries director that will get underway immediately.
The City of Roseville and Placer Valley Tourism are moving forward on plans to build a regional park with eight to 12 multi-use fields to strengthen Placer County’s draw as a major sports and recreation destination.
The Regional Sports Complex, located along the western edge of the Roseville city limits, will serve youth and amateur soccer, lacrosse, football, rugby and various other long field-specific sports teams.
In time for event season, visitors to the area around the Vernon Street Town Square in Downtown Roseville will now be able to connect to the internet via a free wireless network thanks to a partnership between the City of Roseville and Consolidated Communications. The free Wi-Fi service is available along Vernon Street between Taylor Street and Lincoln Street.
The Vernon Street Town Square has attracted more than 100,000 visitors since it opened in August 2013, hosting a variety of events including concerts, festivals, farmers markets, wine tastings, yoga classes and children's story time.
