Updated Design Process:
Responsibilities & Duties
The responsibilities and duties of the Engineering Land Development staff include:
- Reviewing and imposing "conditions of approval" for all new private development projects related to improvements within the public right-of-way as well as on-site grading and drainage;
- Reviewing all construction documents for conformance with City development and construction standards, and issuing approved plans upon acceptance;
- Reviewing and administering the filing and City acceptance of subdivision final maps, parcel maps, lot line adjustments, and mergers;
- Administering all grading and encroachment permits;
- Responding to questions about storm drain systems under city streets;
- Responding to questions about basketball hoops in the public right-of-way; and
- Responding to questions about installing gates on streets.
