Mobility Training

Increase your independence with mobility training

Gain the independence you desire and  travel on the bus where you want, when you want. As an independent traveler, you will be able to rely less on family and neighbors and have the freedom to plan your trips according to your own schedule. Roseville Transit offers free Mobility Training to help seniors or people with special needs learn how to use the bus. It's offered one-on-one or in a group.

Mobility Training gives you the necessary tools to take control of your transportation. A professional mobility trainer will meet with you to develop trip plans using Local buses to get you where you need to go. The trainer will ride the bus with you to teach you where and how to board the bus, how to transfer between buses, how to pay fare, and will travel with you until you are comfortable and confident making the trip on your own. Training programs may take 10 to 30 hours, depending on the individual or group's needs.

Using Roseville Transit's Local fixed-route bus system is less expensive than driving, using Dial-A-Ride or taxi services, and you won’t have to schedule your trips in advance.

Mobility Trainers are screened by the Department of Justice and are skilled at addressing the requirements of seniors and people with special needs.

Do you or someone you know need this type of training? Contact us today to learn about the Mobility Training eligibility process, and get on the road to more independent travel.
