Cardigan Fire

Roseville, CA-July 29 at 11:59 a.m. The Roseville Fire Department responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Cardigan Court in Central Roseville. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the garage of a two story residence. No occupants were home at the time of the fire. Fire crews quickly went to work to bring the fire under control keeping the flames from spreading throughout the home. The fire was extinguished in less than 20 minutes. The fire was confined to the garage area.

4 engine companies, 2 truck companies and 3 chief officers responded to the scene. A total of 23 personnel responded. Assistance was also provided by American Medical Response and the Roseville Police department. Once the scene is considered safe the residents will be able to return to the home, most likely by 5pm.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. This unfortunate incident should act as a reminder to everyone to have properly working smoke detectors. Smoke detectors are the best warning system that can alert your family to dangerous smoke and fire in the home.
