Updated Tuesday, July 14, 2020:

Fare sales and customer service update

Fares remain suspended on Local, Dial-A-Ride and Paratransit services.
However, fare collection is in effect on Commuter buses. You're encouraged to use Connect Card for contactless payment.

•  Roseville Sports Center: Closed
•  Maidu Community Center: Closed
•  Bel Air markets on Sunrise Avenue and Foothills Boulevard: Open for adding fare to your Connect Card




Effective Friday, June 19, 2020:

Face coverings are now required on public transit

Californians are now required to wear face coverings in public spaces. This includes when you are waiting for or riding public transit.

Temporary changes for Local routes

The following Local route changes are due to COVID-19.
  • Route C: time changes, increased frequency
  • Route E: suspended due to college closure
  • Route F: time changes, increased frequency
  • Route G: suspended due to college closure

Roseville Transit continues to closely monitor federal, state and county requirements to provide safe transit services for passengers traveling to essential destinations.

Ridership is monitored daily. Currently, numbers allow for social distancing on all bus services. Passengers are encouraged to wear face coverings, board at rear doors when possible, and select seats to maintain at least 6 feet of separation. 

Fares remain suspended on Local, Dial-A-Ride, and Paratransit services. On Commuter service, the touchless fare system, Connect Card, minimizes proximity between drivers and passengers. 

Additionally, we are working on installing clear shields in the driver area as well as hand sanitizer dispensers for passengers.

As the state transitions, additional safety measures will be implemented as recommended by health officials. We continue to monitor usage patterns. If ridership rises such that social distancing becomes a challenge, we will increase capacity by adding additional buses.

Effective Monday, April 6:


Temporary changes for Commuter routes

As part of Roseville Transit's continued response to COVID-19, the following Commuter routes will be temporarily suspended until further notice. 
    -  AM: 1, 6, 7 & 10
    -  PM: 3, 4 & 8

These changes will be viewable on Bus Tracker. However, it will take a couple of weeks to appear on Google Maps.

Effective Tuesday, March 31:

Rear door boarding and local fare suspension


To assist with social distancing, all Roseville Transit riders must board and exit through rear bus doors when possible. This measure will help reduce passenger interaction with drivers and fareboxes

Because of rear door boarding, Local, Dial-A-Ride, and Paratransit services are temporarily suspending fare collection until further notice. Commuter service will continue to collect fare since buses only have one door. 

The front door will remain available to all riders using mobility devices and those who need the ramp.

If you are using the bike rack, please continue to let the bus driver know before exiting the bus.

Additionally, high-touch areas continue to be sanitized frequently.

Updated March 20, 2020:

Roseville Transit is currently running regular bus service. While the Governor Newsom issued a stay at home order, public transportation is considered an essential service. The public relies on transit to get to essential jobs, grocery shopping and social services. We are here to provide this vital connection for as long as we can do so safely. 

When riding Roseville Transit, please remain respectful of other people by following current public health guidelines and maintaining a minimum 6 ft. distance. This means that seating capacity on buses is temporarily reduced. 

We will continue monitoring and responding as needed to this quickly changing situation and will share any updates with you.

Fare sales and customer service assistance

In person
All City facilities are closed to the public, including the Alternative Transportation office, Roseville Sports Center, and Maidu Community Center. 

Raley’s and Bel Air stores are locations for Connect Card services. Availability may vary by store.  

Cash fare can also be paid when boarding the bus. 

Online
Purchased and manage your transit fare online with the Connect Card. This includes adjusting any fares set to autoload. 

By phone and email
You may also purchase fares over the phone by calling (916) 774-5293 or emailing. Passes will be mailed to you. 

Trip planning assistance is available by calling South Placer Transit Information at (916) or (530) 745-7560 or emailing. Help is available 7 days a week, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Discount ID cards

During the current health crisis, if your transit discount ID card expires, it will continue to be valid and accepted for payment of discounted fares. 

Connect Card users: If your discount ID expiration date falls during City office closures, please call (916) 774-5293 to renew. We'll walk through the information we need to process it remotely. Please allow several days for processing and mailing.

Game Day Express
Due to the suspension of the NBA season, we are refunding tickets for March and April. Your refund will be applied to the credit card you used. It may take up to 2 days to show on your statement.

March 6, 2020:

The City of Roseville continues to work closely with Placer County Public Health, the lead agency in our county regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19).   

Placer County Public Health is coordinating with Federal, State and local officials for up to date information about the virus and in turn working with local government, healthcare providers, schools and others to ensure the safety of our community.

The most current information about the virus in our area will come from Placer County Public Health on Placer County's social media accounts and their website placer.ca.gov/coronavirus

The safety and well-being of Roseville Transit customers is our top priority and we are currently taking the following measures:
  • Sanitizing high-touch surfaces daily with EPA-approved disinfectant,
  • Regular bus cleaning, and
  • Additional cleaning and sanitizing as needed.
In addition to regular cleaning, it’s important to keep in mind that frequently used surfaces—like railings, fare boxes or doors—are only clean until someone touches or coughs/sneezes on them. If we’re to prevent the spread of coronavirus, we need your help. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends these precautions.
