Grow your startup business or nonprofit with Roseville Rising

Apply for the next Roseville Rising entrepreneur cohort. This 12-week Roseville Venture Lab program helps power innovation by equipping early-stage entrepreneurs with personalized insights to hone their business strategy and accelerate their growth. 

Work alongside outstanding executive mentors and leadership coaches to:
  • Effectively tell your story to support recruiting customers, advisors and funders.
  • Use design thinking and Impact Canvas tools to uncover and address gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop an action plan so you can achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Pressure-test your financial model and fundraising plan to support growth.
  • Present your business pitch at the Placer Valley 2023 event.
Participants have an opportunity to be awarded grant funding to further your business goals. 

There is no cost to participate in Roseville Rising. 

Eligible applicants are businesses and nonprofits making a social impact in the greater Sacramento region. Organizations must be less than 10 years old and have annual revenue under $1 million.



Timeline

Application deadline: 5 p.m. on August 18

The 12-week program runs Tuesdays, August 22 through November, 3 – 5 p.m. Participants will have an opportunity to present their business pitch at the Placer Valley 2023 event on Friday, October 6.

Location

In person sessions are at the Roseville Venture Lab, 316 Vernon Street, Suite 110 in Downtown Roseville. Free parking is available. 

Program

Weeks 1-7 will focus on pitch readiness and may include the following topics:
  • Problem and stakeholders
  • Mission and impact metrics
  • Value proposition and customer relationships
  • Revenue and costs, identifying asks
  • Assets and actions
  • Channels and partners
  • Business pitch rehearsal
  • Present business pitches at Placer Valley 2023 event

Weeks 8-12
will focus on investment readiness and may include the following topics:
  • Business model and aligning purpose 
  • Financials and fundraising #1
  • Financials and fundraising #2
  • Capacity building 
  • Wrap-up day and celebration
