Construction underway

It will soon be easier to bike and walk throughout Downtown Roseville. Construction on the Downtown Bridges & Trail Project is in progress.

Work Schedule

Construction working hours are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday - Friday, from Monday, June 4 through late summer/fall 2019. There may be occasional weekend work beginning at 8 a.m.

Parking

The surface parking lot on Oak Street is available for use by the public for Downtown Tuesday Nights through approximately Tuesday, June 19. After that time, it will be closed to the public for the duration of the project.

Dietrich Drive is currently closed to traffic, including the parallel parking spaces.

There may be occasional closures of the Royer Park lot adjacent to the Veterans Hall.

Please use other public parking facilities in the area, including the Vernon Street parking garage, Saugstad Park parking lot, and the new Oak Street parking garage anticipated to open in late June.

Royer Park & Trail

Construction is not expected to affect use of Royer Park's playgrounds, picnic area, tennis courts, or ball fields. Watch for bike and pedestrian detours within the park.

Improvements

  • Continuation of the trail into Royer Park, resulting in a continuous 6-mile long off-street trail from Sierra College Boulevard to Darling Way
  • Refurbishment and rotation of the Rube Nelson “Ice House” Bridge
  • Construction of the Taylor Street pedestrian bridge, connecting Royer Park to the Downtown Library
  • A new downtown pedestrian bridge, providing a direct connection between Royer Park and the Vernon Street Town Square. This bridge will have a high level of architectural detail and be wide enough to accommodate vendors and activities during special events.
  • Addition of 36 trees
