The deadline for artists to submit proposals for a unique public art project at the upcoming Placer Valley Soccer Complex has been extended to March 7. The artwork will be located in the North Plaza and stand as an inviting, photo-friendly space for community members to gather, take photos and celebrate.
About the Placer Valley Soccer Complex
The Placer Valley Soccer Complex is set to become a key destination for sports and community activities. Spanning 51 acres, the facility will feature:
-
10 artificial turf fields for soccer, football, lacrosse and other long field sports
-
A universally accessible playground and shaded picnic areas
-
Ample parking, restrooms and convenient concessions
Once completed in late 2025, this complex will not only support local sports programs but also attract regional leagues and sports tourism, making it a vital addition to the community.
The art installation
We’re seeking proposals from artists for a permanent, three-dimensional art installation on a 5’ 10” concrete platform prominently displaying the words “City of Roseville.” While the artwork does not have to be sports-themed, it should capture the essence of Roseville and be visually striking, encouraging visitors to share their experiences on social media.
This installation will:
-
Engage community members of all ages and backgrounds
-
Be a photo-friendly attraction, with views from all sides ideal for group or individual photos
-
Serve as a memorable symbol of Roseville’s identity and spirit
