FAB Club spreads holiday cheer to area families

Updated December 19, 2023
The holiday season is a time for spreading joy, and our Parks, Recreation & Libraries FAB (Fifty and Better) Club has truly embraced the spirit of giving this year. FAB partnered with Acres of Hope, an organization located in Auburn that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness by supporting women and children in need.

The FAB Club, known for its diverse range of activities throughout the year, decided to channel their energy into a cause that resonated with their members. Their collaboration with Acres of Hope aimed to provide support by providing Christmas trees and presents to families who might otherwise not have any.

Tree deliveryBarbara, a member of the FAB Club, expressed her joy at helping, saying, "I want to help make someone’s Christmas a little better that might be struggling. To be able to work as a group to make that happen made it really fun. I enjoyed meeting new people while we all were here for the same purpose, to give back.”

The partnership also received great support from other FAB members like Millie, Rosie, Carmel and Penny, all who came out to wrap presents and shared their enthusiasm for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others during this time of year.

Diane Larson, Director of Family Services at Acres of Hope, expressed her gratitude for the exceptional generosity, “We feel truly blessed by the generosity of the City of Roseville. The FAB Club went above and beyond to ensure a memorable holiday experience for Acres of Hope families. In addition to beautifully wrapped gifts for the children and moms, they organized the delivery of fresh-cut Christmas trees for each cottage. This act of kindness truly brings in the holiday cheer."

The collaboration between the FAB Club and Acres of Hope is a perfect example of how community, generosity and kindness can make a real impact in the lives of those in need. “Watching our FAB members, community members and City staff rally together to purchase items really was a testament to the love we have in this city,” says FAB Coordinator Annie Stanco. “Through this partnership, we were able to provide some additional holiday magic to those who needed it most, and for that I am grateful.”
