Sit-Along Program
Thank you for taking an interest in siting in Communications at the Roseville Police Department. The purpose of our Sit-Along Program is to provide an opportunity for interested citizens to observe our communication division employees and gain a better understanding of the challenges, risks, and rewards of the dispatcher's role in the community.
Any Roseville resident who is at least 15 years of age may apply for a Sit Along. Approved applicants may sit once every six months. All participants in the program must sign a liability waiver and agree to the terms stated in the Sit-Along Regulations. Individuals under the age of 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. This waiver will remain on file for at least two (2) years for audit purposes.
After your criminal background check is complete and your application approved, you will be notified by phone of the date and time of your sit-along. Please allow at least two weeks between the date you submit the application and the date desired for your sit-along.
There are three shifts available to request for your sit-along. We will do our best to accommodate your request. The shifts are day shift 6:00 am- 4:00 pm, swing shift 4:00 pm- 2:00 am, and graveyard 8 pm- 6 am. Most sit-alongs last about 2 hours.
