Benefits
Roller
compacted concrete is new to most of California, but it has been
successfully used for years in states like Texas and Kansas. It’s a
durable road surface which can last 20–25 years without maintenance,
while typical asphalt requires resurfacing every 7–10 years. The
installation of roller compacted concrete cost about 20% less than
asphalt. By using concrete instead of asphalt, we can better use our
limited funding to repair more Roseville streets. This lighter colored
surface also means cooler roads during the day and brighter roads at
night.
