Join Mayor Krista Bernasconi in making a splash for water conservation this April
Roseville Mayor Krista Bernasconi is challenging residents to dive into water conservation! She's inviting everyone to participate in the Wyland Foundation’s National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation—a friendly nationwide competition where cities pledge to save water, cut pollution, and conserve energy.

Participation is easy—residents can make simple pledges at mywaterpledge.com. Cities with the highest participation could win fantastic prizes, including covering their utility bills for an entire year (up to $3,000)! Plus, they could score eco-friendly home upgrades, gift cards, reusable goodies, and even sustainable eyewear for local schools.

“As a proud, lifelong resident of Roseville, I’ve seen how our community consistently comes together to protect our natural resources,” said Mayor Bernasconi. “Small steps—like shorter showers or fixing leaks—can make a big impact. Let's show everyone how Roseville does water-saving right.”

Roseville has previously achieved remarkable results in this challenge. In 2023, residents pledged to save more than 4.2 million gallons of water, reduce landfill waste by nearly 116,000 pounds, and cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 16 million pounds. In 2021, those numbers were even higher—over 20 million gallons of water pledged and significant reductions in plastic bottle use, hazardous waste, and energy consumption.

“We’re ready to eclipse our previous successes,” Mayor Bernasconi added. "Let's aim even higher this year!"

Roseville residents have always stepped up when it comes to water conservation, consistently reducing water use community-wide over the past decade. “When our community comes together, the impact is incredible,” said Roseville’s Environmental Utilities Director Sean Bigley. “Taking the pledge is one powerful way we can all help ensure a sustainable water future.”
